Description:

SO411 SS3 is a self-priming, two-component epoxy coating, polyamide/amine cured for severely exposed steel. This product is formulated as a two coat system to provide extended life for all severely exposed steel equipment and structures.

Recommended use: 
As an universal primer or high performance coating system for atmospheric or in-water service on steel .

APPLICATION DETAILS:

Mixing ratio: 
Base: Curing agent 1:1 by volume

Induction Time: 

30 minutes after adding Component A and Component B 

Application method: 
Roller ,brush or airless and conventional spray

Thinner: 
The use of a thinning agent is prohibited

Pot life: 
4 hours at 10°C 2.5 hours at 20ºC 1 hours at 30°C

Cleaning of tools: 
CA45 manufactured by Zayit

Indicated film thickness, dry: 
150-175μm per coat, 300-350 total DFT (2 coats).

Recoat interval, min: 
Recoating can proceed if the first coat is touch dry (Tacky) 

Recoat interval, max: 
No recoating after 168 hours. If the 168 hours is exceeded the first coat need to be sanded to create a profile

RECOMMENDED SUBSTRATE CONDITIONS AND TEMPERATURES:

Preparation:
Clean blasted steel substrate to a SA 2½ specification (70 to 80μm profile)

Substrate temperature:
At least 15°C

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:

Premix:
The B component to be stirred mechanically separately for 5 minutes before mixing together.

Mixing:
Mix both A and B components to a 1:1 ratio by volume mechanically during the induction time of 30 minutes.
